Enrichment Programs

Our Enrichment Program aims to develop children’s multi-dimensional potentials, trains them in diverse fields and helps them acquire soft skills. Improving leadership, communication, teamwork, problem solving, social and emotional intelligence, cultural competence and building positive attitude. Instead of making child to choose between different activities, for the initial years, we make sure every child gets to indulge and experience all the programs so that they develop their interest and can decide for themselves which activity they enjoy and have command on the most. In this, they are carefully guided by professional instructors who train our students to achieve high standards. SSIS works with the coaches to identify and set specific learning outcomes in each of the activity.

Today's employers perceive a lack of soft skills among recent graduates. Soft skills, sometimes called key skills, are those desirable qualities that apply across a variety of jobs and life situations—traits such as integrity, communication, courtesy, responsibility, professionalism, flexibility, and teamwork. People develop soft skills through socialization, learning the values, attitudes, and actions through interaction with others. Because socialization and relationship-building are a critical part of young adolescents' lives, primary school is a perfect place to incorporate soft skill development into the school days.

  • Performing Arts: Music, Singing, Choir, Dance and Dramatics
  • Visual Arts: Art & Crafts, Painting, Photography, Sculpture

Art speaks where words are unable to explain. Which is why, visual and performing art programs are woven into the regular curriculum of a student at SSIS. Our annual arts event “Spectrum” gives a platform for students to showcase their talent and express themselves.

  • Language Development: Communication Skills Program, Reader’s Club, Storytelling, Debate, Group Discussions, Foreign Language

Language is at the heart of the curriculum and the development of language is crucial for children to become successful learners. Our aim is for all children to be able to speak clearly, listen with understanding, develop a love of reading and write with confidence. These skills are taught explicitly during language lessons and guided reading sessions and implicitly through the rest of the curriculum.

Dealing with another culture enables people to gain a more profound understanding of their own culture. Creativity is increased with the study of foreign languages. With this idea, we introduce French as a foreign language as a part of the curriculum.

  • Spiritual Growth: Yoga & Meditation

Yoga strengthens the physical body as well as the emotional, mental, and spiritual part of the body. Yoga also encourages students to have high ethical standards, to know themselves inside and out through meditation and deep breathing exercises, and to train the mind to focus and concentrate on the moment at hand.

  • Physical Activities: Sports, Swimming, Martial Arts & Physical Education

We believe that physical education has a vital and unique role to play in a child’s development. As part of the PE curriculum, our children experience a wide range of individual, partner and team activities that help to build a positive attitude and help children to understand the role that regular physical activity can play in a balanced lifestyle. The range of physical activities we provide includes: Indoor Games, Martial Arts, Swimming and Football. All activities are designed to be enjoyable, vigorous, purposeful and regular, to give children the maximum benefit.

  • Technology: ICT (Information Communication Technology) & Smart Class

In today’s technology driven world, students are benefitted if given a proper exposure to computers and IT systems to be able to use it for their work, access stored information on web, to follow instructions to control devices, etc. Smart Class system enhances learning experiences and develops critical-thinking among students.

  • Mental Arithmetic Program: Abacus

Abacus program not only helps children do mental mathematics but it helps in brain development, photographic memory, listening skills, concentration, speed and accuracy, self confidence and all round academic improvement for a child.

  • Experiential Learning: Science, Environment & Academic projects, Creative Learning, Field Trips

We understand the importance of enabling children to view science as a skill for life. Because science links direct practical experience with ideas, it can engage learners at many levels. Children at SSIS are provided with opportunities where they learn to question and discuss science-based issues that may affect their own lives, the direction of society and the future of the world. Our unique appeal to students who enjoy academic adventures like creating structures, building with Legos, unraveling mysteries, drawing comics and having fun using their minds. Our classes are crafted and delivered by credentialed teachers to ensure a quality experience for each child. The world is changing at an ever increasing pace so there’s a need for people who can adapt to changing circumstances and environments, and embrace new ideas, who are enterprising, resourceful and adaptable.
